Our story

Recipes are more than food — they're memories.

We built Our Recipe Tree because every kitchen, community, and tradition has recipes worth saving — and too many of them disappear before anyone thinks to write them down.

Where the idea came from

It starts the same way in almost every family. A grandparent passes away and someone says, "I wish I'd asked her how she made that." The handwritten recipe cards are there, but nobody knows whose handwriting it is or what half the instructions mean.

We started Our Recipe Tree because we believed there had to be a better way. Not just a place to store recipes, but a place to gather them — with the people who carry them, in a format that can be passed down and actually printed and held.

Today, families, friends, and communities use Our Recipe Tree to collect recipes from every source, build shared recipe trees, and print heirloom-quality cookbooks they can give as gifts or keep on the shelf.

Gather every family recipe — before it's forgotten.
Our Recipe Tree — Mission

What we stand for

Four simple values guide everything we build.

People first

Every feature is designed to make it easier for families, friends, and communities to collect, share, and celebrate food together — whoever that looks like for you.

Preservation over perfection

A recipe captured imperfectly is infinitely more valuable than one never saved at all. We make it easy to start.

Shared, not siloed

Recipes belong to the people who share them. Everything we build encourages contribution, collaboration, and generosity across every kind of group.

Print-worthy quality

Digital is convenient, but a printed book is forever. We hold our books to a standard you'd actually want on your shelf.

Who Our Recipe Tree is for

If food brings your people together — family, friends, workmates, or a whole community — this was built for you.

👵

The family keeper

You're the one who still has grandma's index cards. Our Recipe Tree helps you digitize them and share them with everyone who's been asking.

🎁

The thoughtful gift-giver

A printed cookbook is the kind of gift people keep forever. Our Recipe Tree makes it possible in an afternoon — whether it's family recipes, friend group favourites, or a community collection.

🍳

The home cook

You love to cook and collect recipes. Our Recipe Tree gives your collection a beautiful, searchable home — one that everyone you share it with can access.

👩‍💼

The workplace crew

Office potlucks, team lunches, the colleague whose dish everyone asks about — Our Recipe Tree gives workmates a shared place to collect and celebrate the food that brings them together.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The family organizer

You're always the one pulling holiday meals together. Now you can collect everyone's recipes in one place — and finally get them into a book.

🤝

The community connector

Cooking clubs, church groups, sports teams, neighbourhood associations — any group that gathers around food can build a shared recipe tree, collect contributions, and celebrate the dishes that define them.

🙌

The fundraiser organizer

Community cookbooks are one of the most effective fundraising tools around. Our Recipe Tree makes it easy to gather contributions, build a polished book, and get it print-ready — without the chaos.
