One of the best things about loving food is that it connects you to other people who love food.
The neighbour who brings something to a block party and the whole table goes quiet. The friend whose grandmother made something you still think about years later. The stranger at a potluck whose dish stops the room.
You ask for the recipe. You mean it. And sometimes it happens — and sometimes it doesn't.
Our Recipe Tree has a Public Recipes page — and it's exactly that: a living, growing collection of public recipes from real members.
They appear with photos, stories, and contributor details when provided.
Each one was added by a member — someone who cooks, someone who remembers, or someone who wanted to make sure a recipe didn't disappear.
What makes it different
You can see the contributor when they have shared a name, read the story when one is included, and browse the photos and details they chose to add.
It's not a recipe aggregator. It's more like a community archive — the kind of cookbook that gets passed around at a family reunion, except everyone contributed.
Signed-in members can save a public recipe to their Saved Recipes list, making it easy to find again. Saving bookmarks the original recipe; it does not create an editable copy, and only the contributor can change it.
Want to be part of it?
If you have a recipe you'd like to share, open it for editing, go to Settings, and turn on Make Public. Public recipes can be viewed by anyone with the link and may appear in the community gallery. Only you can edit them, and you choose which recipes stay private.
We started this series to show you what's possible inside Our Recipe Tree — one small feature at a time. This one feels like the right note to end on.
Because at the end of the day, that's what this is all about. Food that brings people together. Recipes that belong to someone. Stories worth keeping.
Thank you for cooking along with us.
