You know the moment.
You're mid-recipe — hands coated in something sticky, something buttery, something you absolutely cannot wipe on your pants — and your phone goes dark.
You try to unlock it with a knuckle. Then an elbow. Then you give up and just hope you remembered how much flour goes in.
We've all been there.
There's a fix, and it takes one tap.
Inside Our Recipe Tree, there's a small button in the recipe action bar called Keep Screen On. Tap it before you start cooking, and your screen stays lit the entire time — no more auto-lock, no more squinting at a dark phone, no more guessing.
Tap it again when you're done, and your screen goes back to normal.
That's it.
Why we built it
We think a lot about what makes cooking enjoyable. Not just the food — but the experience of being in the kitchen, relaxed, present, and not fighting your technology.
The stories behind recipes deserve to be read. The instructions deserve to be followed. And your phone deserves to stay on long enough to help you do both.
Keep Screen On is a small thing. But small things matter in the kitchen.
One tip: On some phones, the icon looks like a little sun ☀️ — that's the one. Tap it when you open your recipe and you're good to go.
Ready to try it? Log in to your recipe collection or start for free — and next time you cook, your screen will stay with you.
